Skins & Needles Education
Skins & Needles Barbers Academy is led by our Artistic Director Leah. With her plethora of experience and talent you can be confident that your training will exceed all expectations and take your career to new levels. Our aim is to produce confident, highly skilled barbers who are expertly schooled in all aspects of barbering, from traditional techniques to innovative modern barbering.
With a passion for all thing’s hair, we are taking the North East barbering scene by storm with our creativity, highly skilled tutors and award-winning trainees and barbers.
Based in the heart of Middlesbrough we pride ourselves on offering an elite service at every level. From on trend cuts and superb customer service within our barbers, to the best training and education. The cast of MTVs Geordie Shore and Middlesbrough Football Club players are amongst our loyal client base and know we can be entrusted to keep them looking slick on tv and the football pitch.
Our collaboration with stylists to the stars Adee Phelan and Dale Ted Watkins puts us head and shoulders above other training schools.

The Academy
Skins & Needles Barbering Academy delivers top level barbering training to those looking for a solid foundation for entry to the industry. Our learning methods are delivered in a working barbershop environment, proven to be the best preparation for a professional career in barbering.
We can also offer a complete package of training and half board accommodation with this course. We have guest houses located within walking distance of our academy and our bistro can provide breakfast and dinner with locally sourced food prepared by our top rated chef.

The academy has an established and varied client base which ensures maximum student to client cutting contact time. This rich demographic gives our students access to many different hair types including European, Asian and African hair thus giving our students a working knowledge of all hair types.

ADEE PHELAN
Stylist to the stars Adee is one of the UKs most talented and well-known hairdressers. Years of experience in cutting and teaching has ensured he has multiple awards and accolades under his belt.
Former Men’s British Hairdresser of the Year, four times finalist Men’s Hairdresser of the Year, two times Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year, Adee is the man behind the infamous David Beckham ‘Mowhawk’ cut which saw him collect Fellowship Image of the Year. Adee has established a well-deserved reputation and career as a successful and talented hairdresser. His numerous TV show appearances include Channel 4’s The Salon, BBC’s Young Hairdresser of the Year, NBC’s Shear Genius, Channel 4’s The Secret Millionnaire, ITV’s Bend it like Beckham and many more.
DALE TED WATKINS
Dale has spent over 30 years pushing the boundaries of men’s hairdressing. Trained by Vidal Sassoon his services are in high demand and he has flown all over the word cutting hair for the rich and famous. Dale has also featured in multiple fashion campaigns, music videos and magazine shoots whilst also being one of the top educators in the hairdressing field.
Our masterclasses will teach you an abundance of new skills, grooming tips and tricks, up to date hair trends, industry insider knowledge and working within the media.
All our courses are designed to ensure you leave with not only a qualification but the beginnings of a successful and long-lasting career.

If you are interested in getting finance the first thing you need to do is contact us to know how much you are wanting to pay with finance.
We will then give you a link for a form that you can complete in your own time which will assess your eligibility and let you know the full process.
